Brown's Creek Antero

We have just received Antero's fiber statistics, and we are quite pleased! Micron of AFD 22.8, SD 5.0, CV 21.9, %>30 microns 7.9.  In 2007, he won a Third Place ribbon at the New Mexico State Fair Alpaca Show in a halter class of six. The judge commented on his nice straight legs and the fineness of his fleece.  Antero's first offspring will arrive fall of '08. He is bred to our dark brown female Sweet Louise (success on the first and only breeding for both!) and to our experienced dam Lanark's Isadora. We look forward to color and more color.

We have high hopes for his lovely fleece with wonderful handle. He has true black coloring from his dam’s side, along with Peruvian Bueno genes, and he figures to be an important part of our breeding program. Add some color to your herd with a breeding to Antero.

Jolimont Gold Dust ("Dusty")

Full Peruvian ~ Beige proven male

We are very pleased with Dusty's spring cria. Although Dusty is an older proven male, all of his offspring reside in Canada, so we weren’t sure what he could produce - except for some nice color!  Our girl Isadora had a strapping 19 lb. boy from Dusty. Cobre’s coloring is like none we've seen - a light to medium fawn but with a lustre like shiny copper. He is ¾ Peruvian, ¼ Chilean.  Megan’s two girls from Dusty are pure white.

Now a lively 11 years old, “Dusty” won Second Place Mature Male at the 2003 Kentucky Classic, suggesting that his strong bones and dense fleece are enduring traits. “Dusty” also has a gentle disposition.

Gold Dust’s sire, Draco, and dam, Shonda Sunrise, were imported from the Sollocota Co-operative in Peru by the Jolimont ranch of Australia. Shonda Sunrise was then imported to Canada where she gave birth to Gold Dust Sunrise, renamed Jolimont Gold Dust.

Milagro San Pedro ("Pete")

Full Peruvian ~ Blue Ribbon Winner at NM State Fair

Another fine Show Me the Money offspring, full Peruvian "Pete" has coverage to spare and impressive staple length. His fleece took a second place at the 2006 Estes Park Wool Market with high marks for uniformity of micron, brightness, fineness and handle, and he received a blue ribbon in his halter class at the New Mexico State Fair Alpaca Show. The judge was impressed with his presence and proportion, among other things. He comes with Royal Fawn, Hemingway and Dom Alamir genetics in his background, and dense fleece from his top knot to his toes. "Pete" is a good looking boy with a solid frame and a friendly personality that makes him easy to handle. Great genetics and conformation and beautiful fleece - good reasons to introduce "Pete" to your females today. San Pedro's first cria is on the ground at "Enchanted Sky Alpacas."

Senor Tierra Mago

Medium Brown fiber male with loads of fleece

Although his fiber is wonderful to work with and he certainly has lots of it, it doesn’t have the character we would like to see in a breeding male.  We have recently had him gelded, so if you are looking for your own source of lovely brown alpaca fiber or need a companion animal, Mago is your man.

. . . and Meet Carl, too.

   Carl

Milagro Lucero ("Carl")

Extremely fine and consistent fleece

Milagro Lucero, "Carl", is a friendly, curious and very handsome young male.  He is ¾ Peruvian and should be ready for breeding in the spring.  We are not offering him for sale currently since we hope to pass on his fine fleece to some future offspring.  See his very impressive fleece statistics below. “Carl’s” sire, Peruvian Congo, has passed on his extremely fine and consistent fleece characteristics once again. Congo shears copious amounts of below-20 micron fleece, and we have high hopes in that area for Lucero; he did have a substantial shearing this past spring with fine crimp, wonderful handle and a four inch staple. He is a graceful and beautiful male with vicuna coloring on the legs and black highlights on his nose.  Milagro Lucero will be ready for breeding our females - and yours too!- in the spring of 2009.
