When we purchased Antero from So Fine Alpacas in
    Black Forest, CO, in 2007, we had high hopes for his
    lovely fleece with its wonderful handle. He has true
    black coloring from his dam’s side, as well as Peruvian
    Bueno genetics.  At his second shearing, just short of
    two years old, Antero's fiber statistics were MFD 22.8,
    SD 5.0, CV 21.9, %>30 microns 7.9, satisfying our
    hopes.  Now Antero has produced four very nice cria
    for us – a bay black female, Tall Black Coffee, and a
    medium brown male, Jack Flash.  Antero produced a
    female this spring at Stable Investments Alpacas in
    Edgewood, NM, this time a fawn, and another male at
    our ranch, this one snow white!  He demonstrates quite
    a range of color.  Antero’s conformation is very correct;
    at the 2007 NMSF Alpaca Show, where Antero took 3rd
    place in a very competitive class, the judge
    complimented Antero on his straight legs and top line
    and the correctness of his overall proportions.
